The SCImago Journal Rank (sjr) indicator, which measures the international quality of academic journals, ranks the Boletín in the first quartile (Q1) for the categories Archaeology and Visual Arts and Performing Arts within the Arts and Humanities area, as well as for Archaeology within the Social Sciences area, while it ranks the journal in the second quartile (Q2) for Anthropology also within the Social Sciences area.
Also, the WoS Journal Citation Indicator (jci) ranks the journal in the first quartile (Q1) in Arts. Moreover, in all the categories in which it is ranked in Q1, the journal ranks first in the world among Diamond Open Access publications indexed in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO).

The journal’s presence and ranking in these indices demonstrate that the Boletín del Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino is now one of the leading international publication venues for research on the Indigenous peoples of the Americas in the fields recognised by these indicators.
